A tremendous variety of marine life exists around this exclusive dive island. The island has direct access onto the Great Barrier Reef itself meaning there is no wasted traveling time between dives. Local resorts provide training and instruction for all levels of diver. There are also some excellent night dive sites for the more experienced when some of the rarer nocturnal species can be seen. The island is also a breeding ground for Loggerhead and Green Sea Turtles; the hatching period is between November and March and affords an unforgettable experience as the young first make there way out to sea.
