Port Phillip Heads is the name of Melbourne's main bay and contains countless dive sites. There are 4 submarines from the 1st World War and over 50 other sunken ships. The bay also has superb shore and wall diving in places like Foggy Reef, Spectacular Reef and the Lonsdale Wall. Gullies, drop-offs, overhangs, ledges and caves abound in great numbers and play host to vast quantities of marine flora and fauna. Whilst Melbourne may not always be the obvious choice for diving in Australia, it contains some tranquil unspoiled dive locations that are just waiting to be explored.
