Diving Adelaide
With a different dive every day this place really does have it all. There are several wrecks in the area as well as some of the most enjoyable boat and shore dives in the country. Kangaroo Island should definitely be visited by any serious diver, as the myriad species of fish has to be seen to be believed.
Adelaide , is Australia's 5th largest city and one of its most beautiful. The city lies on the coastline of Gulf St Vincent and inland the boundary is the Adelaide Hills. The suburbs reach roughly 20 km (12 mi) from the coast to the foothills but sprawl 90 km (56 mi) from Gawler at its northern extent to Sellicks Beach in the south.The town is named after Queen Adelaide, wife of William IV.
Adelaide is South Australia's seat of government and commercial centre, the cityis the site of many governmental and financial institutions. Most of these are concentrated in the city centre along the cultural boulevard of North Terrace, King William Street and in various districts of the metropolitan area.
Today, Adelaide is noted for its many festivals and sporting events, its food, wine and culture, its long beachfronts, and its large defence and manufacturing sectors. It continues to rank highly as a livable city, being in the Top 10 in The Economist's World's Most Livable Cities index.
Adelaide has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate , where most of the rain falls in the winter months. Of the Australian capital cities, Adelaide is the driest, and it has a semi-arid climate influence because of its dryness. Rainfall is sparse throughout summer. In contrast, the winter has fairly reliable rainfall with June being the years wettest month. There is usually no appreciable snowfall, except at Mount Lofty and some places in the Adelaide Hills.
